Katie Strauss serves as Treasurer of Soaring Spirits Canada, where she supports the organization’s mission of building connection, resilience, and community for widowed individuals across Canada. While Katie is not herself a widow, she has seen firsthand the profound impact that the loss of a spouse can have on individuals and families, and deeply values the role that community and connection play in healing and resilience.

Katie is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and works as a Manager in Assurance at a Public Accounting Firm, with extensive experience advising charitable and not‑for‑profit organizations. Katie attended Wilfrid Laurier University, where she got her Bachelor’s of Business Administration and a Grad Diploma in Accounting while being a varsity athlete on the golf team. When she is not at work or performing her SSC duties, you can find her snuggling with her dogs, reading a good book or working on one of her many crafts.

Katie is passionate about volunteerism and using her professional expertise to support causes that strengthen communities. She is honoured to contribute her skills to Soaring Spirits Canada and to support the organization’s continued impact and growth.
