Soaring Spirits is a volunteer-run organization. Stacey Brown is the SSC Volunteer Director who oversees our volunteer program including filling key-volunteer positions and the recruitment, training and appreciation of volunteers for Camp Widow and other programs and fundraising events.

Volunteer appreciation is key to recruiting and retaining experienced volunteers. Stacey is involved in developing best practices for volunteer appreciation and ensures SSC volunteers are recognized for the contribution they make in supporting widowed people.  This includes board members, key volunteers, and everyone who helps make SSC fundraising and programming possible.

A key part of this role is recruiting and managing the large number of volunteers required for each Camp Widow event. Working with the Camp Committee, the Volunteer Manager oversees volunteer recruitment for all Camp teams, helping determine the volunteer needs for each team and recruiting dozens of volunteers to fill over 150 volunteer opportunities at Camp.  Throughout Camp, the Volunteer Manager is responsible for overall volunteer management and troubleshooting volunteer gaps and issues.
