Greg Mais
Greg’s grief journey began in May 2017 when his wife, Rose, passed away. She choose MAiD to end her life with dignity after a two year battle with appendix cancer. Greg refused to let the despondency that often comes with grief, to control his life. In doing so, he has found ways to use his grieving experience to give back to the widowed community.
In November, 2017 he attended his first Camp Widow in Toronto. It made a lasting impression on him just knowing that he was not alone. He found that there was always someone to talk too through the contacts he made at camp.
Greg is a Board member of Soaring Spirits Canada. He continues to co-lead the on-line Soaring Spirits International men’s group, he also co-leads an online mens group for Hummingbird Center for Hope. He facilitates an on-line 8 week closed widow workshop and provides one on one widowed peer support when needed through The Scarborough Center for Healthy Communities.
Recently retired, he looks forward to having more time to pursue his passions of painting, sculpting and golf.
