Michelle Los

Michelle Los
Michelle Los

Michelle Los has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, but her life’s greatest lessons came outside the classroom. Widowed at the age of 39 in 2017, Michelle lost her husband of 10 years after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. Suddenly navigating life as the solo parent of their 8-year-old child, she experienced firsthand the challenges, isolation, and resilience that accompany young widowhood.

A transformative experience at Camp Widow showed Michelle the profound healing that comes from connecting with others who truly understand. Inspired by the friendships and support she found there, she returned home determined to ensure that same sense of belonging existed in her own community.

Together with two other young widows, Michelle co-founded a support group that has since grown into a thriving community of more than 300 members. What began as a small gathering has evolved into a vibrant network offering monthly dinners, a book club, a bowling league, volunteer opportunities at the local food bank, and countless moments of connection and encouragement.

Michelle is passionate about reminding widowed people that they do not have to navigate grief alone. She believes that finding a community of people who “get it” is one of the most powerful tools for healing, hope, and moving forward. Her message is simple but profound: we are not alone, and this journey is easier to walk together.
