Shanelle Fairburn

Shanelle Fairburn was widowed at age 33. She was married to her husband Kurt for almost 15 years. Her husband died in 2017 from ALS. They have 5 beautiful children together, the youngest being only 7 weeks old when her husband passed. In 2018 Marc-Andre, the widower she was dating was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident. Her Faith, Family, Friends and Widow Community have been her pillars of strength throughout her Widow Journey. She is the co-founder and an admin for Edmonton Young and Widowed (Social Group) that helps connect more than 330 local widow and widowers through monthly dinners, book club, bowling league and other online and in-person events. Shanelle finds joy in gardening, painting, sunsets, traveling, exploring local markets/restaurants and going on road trips with her children.
