Sharon Koch

Sharon Koch is a widowed parent who lost her husband in 2016 and has been raising their two young boys on her own ever since. Her journey through grief, identity upheaval, solo parenting, and rebuilding has shaped her into a compassionate voice for others navigating life after loss. Sharon brings honesty, warmth, and a deep understanding of the complexities of partner loss—whether the relationship was long or short, married or not, joyful or complicated. She is honoured and excited to be speaking at Camp Widow for the first time, sharing insights on belonging, self-compassion, and reclaiming your place in a community no one ever expects to join. Sharon lives in Calgary, Alberta, and is a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers.
