Suzanne Dashney

Suzanne, who has a degree in Psychology, is a retired teacher, Reiki Master, and Holistic Nutritionist. She recently achieved Grief Educator certification and now leads a
widow support group at her church. Suzanne was widowed three years ago, when her
husband of 33 years, died of Metastatic Bladder Cancer. She feels enormous gratitude
that she was introduced to Camp Widow just two months into her widowhood. The
support of fellow campers, friendships gained and workshops attended, along with
becoming part of The Soaring Spirits Regional Group, is helping her to navigate this
new life. Suzanne believes that by finding the little joys in life each day, relearning to
laugh, and to love again, she can redefine her community and better connect with
herself. She will share her insights, hoping to inspire fellow widows to find new light
along their journey, while embracing their grief.
